As a multi-faceted artist, Elsa Naude questions bodies, intimacies and (gendered) identity-producing phenomena. From printmaking to painting or sculpture, she explores multiple techniques as a way to mirror the diversity of our languages. She focuses on the study of words, and sometimes their absence, and contemplates what they respectively produce in our daily lives and behaviors.
Graduated in 2016 from EnsAD in printmaking (etching, screenprinting, lithography) and in 2012 from École Estienne in Illustration, her studies also led her to the Pontificia Universidade Catolica in Rio de Janeiro.
Elsa teaches printmaking, experimental publishing, drawing and visual communication to a variety of audiences and international students. Her teaching experience includes Paris (Paris College of Art), Strasbourg (École Métamorphoses) and Basel (Druckwerk atelier).
You can read here an interview about the strong link between her artistic practice and her pedagogy, around gender matters.
